Permitted Use

Public Records Online LLC is a private company, not a government agency. Reports are research copies, not certified documents, and are not consumer reports under the FCRA.

What you may use reports for

• Researching the ownership, sale history and recorded documents of a property
• Checking a property for recorded mortgages and liens
• Looking up parcel and assessment data
• Researching your own property, or a property you have a legitimate interest in

What you may not use reports for

• Decisions about anyone's eligibility for credit, insurance or loans
• Employment decisions — hiring, promotion, reassignment or retention
• Housing decisions, including tenant screening
• Any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
• Stalking, harassing, threatening or intimidating anyone
• Any other unlawful purpose

What you confirm before your account is created

At checkout you must tick a box that is never pre-ticked:

I will not use this information to make decisions about credit, employment, housing/tenant screening, insurance or any other purpose covered by the FCRA, or to stalk or harass anyone.

Your account cannot be created without it, and we keep a timestamped record of your confirmation.

How we enforce it

We may suspend accounts that use reports for prohibited purposes, and we monitor for misuse. If you believe someone is misusing information from our site, contact us at [email protected] or (877) 840‑9649.

These rules are part of our Terms of Service. If a record about you appears on our site, you can ask us to remove it on our Do Not Sell / Remove My Info page.
